The Uruguayan education system shows deep inequities.
The academic performance of students in the most disadvantaged contexts is significantly lower than that of students in more privileged environments. In the most vulnerable areas, 7 out of 10 third-grade students do not reach minimum proficiency levels in mathematics, while in more favorable contexts that number drops to 2 out of 10.
